Biography
Cody Johnson was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High school. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Avila University. From there, he went to Case Western Reserve University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated in 2017 making the Dean's list and graduating cum laude.
Prior to joining the Hensley Law Office, Cody spent the prior four years working for the Missouri State Public Defender's Office, trial division. As an assistant Public Defender, he advocated for those who cannot afford an attorney through the criminal justice system primarily out of the Cass and Johnson County areas. He successfully defended clients with crimes ranging from drugs and driving offenses to murder through negotiations and jury trials.
Currently, Cody is a member of the Missouri Bar and he is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court of Western Missouri. He joined the Hensley Law office in 2021.
